Unemployment Jumps past 13% in Sacramento

More proof that Sacramento needs to become more employer friendly.

“Retail job cutbacks following the end of the holiday season lead the jobless rate in the Sacramento region to jump in January by the largest margin in more than a year, landing at 13.1 percent, the state’s Employment Development Department said Wednesday.

It’s another modern day record for unemployment in Sacramento and is up from a rate of 12.2 percent in December.”

Nominating signatures

Finished collecting nominating signatures today. Talked to a lot of great people in the district. After filing with the city clerk’s office on Wednesday, it’ll be down to the nitty gritty of researching issues, and then back to knocking on doors! See you out there!
