Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has really got it goin’ on these days. He showed amazing prowess and his sparring skills when confronted by a protester at an interview this week. Just freaking awesome.
As Graham was being interviewed on live TV, a rude and obnoxious female protester kept interrupting him screaming about Supreme Court justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh. He did not take kindly to that in the least. What southern gentleman would?
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley said the report — which is only available in hard copy and is being held inside a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility in the Capitol (SCIF) — found “no hint of misconduct.”
Graham had just reviewed the supplemental FBI report on the investigation into abuse allegations against Kavanaugh in the SCIF. He was busy briefing reporters on the contents of the report when this loudmouth showed up.
“150 plus people have been interviewed over a 20-something year period,” Graham stated, “The Brett Kavanaugh that I knew before the committee is the Brett Kavanaugh I know now, the only difference is an effort to ruin this man’s life. I am ready to vote.”
And vote they shall. The Senate voted today to end debate on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination, moving the chamber to a final vote Saturday evening amid a contentious fight over decades-old sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh. The vote to invoke cloture was 51-49. I really believe that Kavanaugh will prevail tomorrow and will sit on the high court after all of this.
After Graham had reviewed the report, he turned to walk down the hallway but decided to give the media one last comment and stopped. That was when an elderly woman, the protester, appeared behind him and began screaming that Kavanaugh should take a polygraph.
“We’ve humiliated this guy enough, and there seems to be no bottom for some of you,” Graham said, turning directly to the protester. That was genteel… she deserved much more than that.
The protester screeched, “If he took a polygraph –” before Graham nailed her by saying, “Why don’t we dunk him in the water and see if he floats?”
Graham wasn’t quite finished: “It will never be enough. If you don’t believe he is a gang rapist, if you don’t believe he is a stumbling, bumbling drunk, serial sexual predator, maybe you will believe he lied about how much he drank in high school. Threw ice at a party. Or he doesn’t have the temperament. Lets vote. I’m more confident than ever.” Good for Graham.
Graham is absolutely fearless in the face of all this. Thousands of protesters showed up led by celebrities and politicians to protest Kavanaugh on Capitol Hill yesterday. Over 300 were arrested. But after the way Graham handled this woman, I have no doubt he could have handled the rest as well.
From Fox News:
“Thousands of liberal protesters fired up by Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren, marched up Capitol Hill on Thursday to protest Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court and put pressure on the handful of undecided senators who will determine whether Kavanaugh gets confirmed in the coming days.
“By Thursday afternoon, Capitol Police began arresting hundreds of protesters inside the Hart Senate Office Building who raised their fists and loudly started chanting “Kavanaugh has got to go.” Arrests were made after protesters began sitting down in the building’s atrium, refusing to cooperate with law enforcement.
“In all, some 302 protesters were arrested and charged with unlawfully demonstrating in Senate office buildings Thursday, police said.
“During the rallies and marches, protesters made it clear they were mad that Kavanaugh – who has denied allegations of past sexual assault – might be confirmed as early as this week.”
Graham’s impassioned scolding of Democrats last week during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing featuring testimony from Kavanaugh and Ford had already won the hearts of many Americans exasperated and frustrated by the confirmation process. Graham called the Democrats’ treatment of Kavanaugh, particularly the dropping of an uncorroborated accusation in the 11th hour, “the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics.”
I have never thought of Lindsey Graham as a political powerhouse, but he’s changing my mind. I’m thrilled with how he has defended both Kavanaugh and Trump here. Even after getting doxxed by leftists, Graham savaged them even further over all this. I’m still smiling.
PROTESTER: “If he would [take] a polygraph, this would all be over, Senator Graham.”
GRAHAM: “Why don’t we dunk him in water and see if he floats.”
