House Democrats Readying Bill To Criminalize Private Gun Sales – Won’t End Well

Last Friday, the Democrat governor of Pennsylvania met with the mayor of Pittsburgh to push for gun and magazine bans in several municipalities and vowed to take the effort nationwide. About a week ago, it became a felony in the fourth-degree to possess “high capacity” magazines in the state of New Jersey. In November, a Democrat member of Congress suggested that the government would use nuclear weapons on its own citizens if they fought against any proposed gun bans. And now, Democrats in the U.S. House are preparing legislation that would criminalize private gun sales.

Breitbart is reporting:

The incoming Democrat House majority is readying legislation to criminalize private gun sales.

Ironically, the push comes nearly 227 years to the day after private gun ownership was hedged in by the Founding Fathers via the Second Amendment, which was ratified on December 15, 1791.

Politico reports that Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) is spearheading the current gun control push through “universal background” legislation. Such checks criminalize private gun sales, making it illegal for a neighbor to sell a firearm to his neighbor, a friend to his lifelong friend, and even a father to his son.

Under the Democrats’ plan, a background system like that in California would require a gun seller to seek government permission for any sale or transfer of a firearm. Such a system was put in place in California in the early 1990s and has failed to prevent some of our nation’s most heinous mass public attacks.

Breitbart News’s Joel Pollack observed:

Nevertheless, Thompson expects to push his gun control bill within “the first 100 days” of the new Congress.

Incoming House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) has already assured his colleagues that he will move the bill “very quickly” once it is introduced.

The criminalization of private gun sales would not have stopped a single 21st century mass shooting, as nearly every mass shooter bought his firearms at retail via a background check. The exceptions to this norm are the two or three mass shooters who stole their guns.”

The Politico report continued:

“For the first time in years, the House of Representatives is going to be able to debate,” and pass strong gun-safety laws, which is something they haven’t been able to do during this modern gun-safety movement,” which began with the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, said Robin Lloyd, director of government affairs at Giffords. Giffords was founded by former Democratic Rep. Gabby Giffords (Ariz.), who was severely injured in a January 2011 shooting that left six people dead and 13 wounded.

“The public has been demanding commonsense gun laws for years,” added John Feinblatt, Everytown’s president. “The public is ready for the Congress to act. The new leadership that’s coming to the House in 2019 is listening to voters, and that’s what they should be doing.”

Everytown was started by Michael Bloomberg, the billionaire businessman and former New York City mayor. Bloomberg dumped tens of millions of dollars into the midterms to help Democrats, and he’s now considering a run for the White House in 2020.”

Gallup and Pew Research Center polls in 2017 have 42% of Americans owning guns. That’s about 137 million citizens who own firearms. If Democrats get their way, they will be criminals if they sell their guns without government permission.

Earlier this year, the Navy SEAL who killed Bin Laden, Rob O’Neill, asked me to help him with research for a Second Amendment video he was going to give to Parkland School shooting survivor, Kyle Kashuv who is a Second Amendment supporter.

Regarding school safety & firearms regulations, O’Neill & I discussed:

Ensuring that the FBI and local authorities handle warning signs correctly. Government at the federal and local levels missed the warning signs in the Parkland shooting.

Doing away with gun-free school zones.

Police substations at schools – they are popular & work on multiple levels.

Regulate prescription drugs being given to teens – 36 school shooters/school related violence was committed by those under the influence of psychiatric drugs.

States should pass campus concealed carry laws – After implementation, the University of Kansas saw a significant drop in criminal activity on campus, with 100 fewer crimes reported in 2017 than in 2016.

Reintroduce firearms education in public schools – “There was a time in America where firearms and firearms safety was routinely taught in U.S. schools and the concept is coming back.” Up until 1969, almost every high school in America had shooting clubs. Kids regularly brought their guns to school. In the 50s, firearm safety was regularly taught to elementary school students. School shootings were extremely rare nationwide.

Do what Utah does: Encourages those 18 & up to be trained, armed, and carry on campus. There have been no mass school shootings in Utah.

Our Founding Fathers knew that the citizenry needed firearms in order to defend themselves against a tyrannical government, which is why we have the Second Amendment. The left believes that government is the cure for all things, and they will do anything to grow it in order to control the populace. Venezuelans learned the hard way about having their guns taken from them. Now their dictatorial government is dominating them.

In 2016 Trump warned us that Hillary wanted to abolish the Second Amendment.

Since she lost, it looks like Democrats taking over the House will try to infringe on our Second Amendment rights for her. If we let that happen, we’ll suffer the same fate as those in Venezuela, and as the Jews in Germany before them.
