This is downright irresponsible. No elected official should suggest that the government would use nukes on its own citizens.
A Democrat representative has done just that & in my opinion he should be forced to resign immediately.
Eric Swalwell Jr. is the U.S. Representative from California’s 15th congressional district. Today he responded to Army vet Joe Biggs who Tweeted that Swalwell wants a war over the Second Amendment. Biggs is a conservative reporter & Purple Heart recipient.
According to NBC News Swalwell, “proposed outlawing “military-style semiautomatic assault weapons” and forcing existing owners to sell their weapons or face prosecution, a major departure from prior gun control proposals that typically exempt existing firearms.”
Swalwell responded to Biggs’ suggestion of a war by saying that, “it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes.”
The Washington Examiner reported:
“In a Twitter debate about the buy-back of assault weapons Friday, Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., boasted about the U.S. government having nuclear weapons at its disposal if gun owners went to war against their own country.
It began when a Twitter user claimed Swalwell would spark a war by trying to force gun owners to get rid of assault weapons. Swalwell responded by noting that the government has nuclear weapons.
“So basically @RepSwalwell wants a war,” Joe Biggs tweeted in response to Swalwell proposing a ban on “military-style semiautomatic assault weapons” and forcing owners to sell their weapons or face prosecution.
“Because that’s what you would get,” he continued. “You’re outta your fucking mind if you think I’ll give up my rights and give the gov all the power.”

Swalwell responded: “And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities.”

“The Democrat told Biggs not to “be so dramatic” when pressed on whether the U.S. government would actually use nuclear weapons on its own soil. “No one is nuking anyone or threatening that. I’m telling you this is not the 18th Century,” Swalwell said.
Don’t be so dramatic. No one is nuking anyone or threatening that. I’m telling you this is not the 18th Century. The argument that you would go to war with your government if an assault weapons ban was in place is ludicrous and inflames the gun debate. Which is what you want. https://t.co/oX0rY7Nbs1

Swalwell is considered a possible contender against President Trump in 2020 and has made several visits to early primary voting states in the last year.”
The Daily Caller also reported:
“Despite the earlier suggestion that the government would go to war with its own citizens, Swalwell mocked gun owners who believe they need guns to protect themselves from a tyrannical government.”
Don’t be so dramatic. You claiming you need a gun to protect yourself against the government is ludicrous. But you seem like a reasonable person. If an assault weapons ban happens, I’m sure you’ll follow law.

Swalwell accused this reporter of “lying” after an attempt to characterize the congressman’s arguments in the thread.
You’re just lying. And inflaming the issue. But hope you get more followers!

Swalwell’s colleague, Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, even weighed in on the debate, writing simply, “What the?”

Here is Swalwell debating with Tucker Carlson over his proposed gun ban back in May of this year.
So, this is one of the Dems who are taking over the House. Sounds like Swalwell got spooked over the reactions to his suggestion the government would use nukes on its own citizens & is doing some damage control.
Share this if you think Swalwell should be forced to resign!
