Earlier today, First Lady Melania Trump packed comfort kits for our active duty service members who are deployed overseas.
After hearing of the tragic deaths of 3 of our troops in Afghanistan, Melania asked for the help of all Americans.
The Daily Mail is reporting:
“Melania Trump packed care packages for U.S. troops at the Red Cross on Tuesday and expressed her sorrow for soldiers killed in Afghanistan – gestures of comfort that come amid questions about when President Donald Trump will make his first overseas visit to the troops.
‘Today’s tragic news out of Afghanistan only drives home the need to support the men and women in our military and their families. We lift up the families affected by this terrible loss,’ she said.
Three U.S. soldiers were killed Tuesday in Afghanistan. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombing that resulted in the largest loss of American lives there this year.
‘Our continued prayers remain with all our troops as we come together this morning to support our Armed Forces,’ Melania Trump said.
‘I am very thankful for the men and women in uniform who sacrifice daily to protect not only the American people but our freedoms and way of life,’ she noted.
‘To the mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, and sisters who will be away from home as they answer duty’s call- we thank you for your service,’ the first lady said.
The first lady smiled and chatted with volunteers as she packed the blue bags filled with snacks like popcorn and easy Mac along with toiletry items like tooth paste and shaving cream.
The packages will be sent to troops stationed in Iraq, Poland, Kuwait and Djibouti, according to the first lady’s office.
As the holiday season begins, we remember all our brave men and women serving overseas. Honored to join @SecondLady at the @RedCross this morning to make comfort kits for our troops currently deployed. Thank you for your service! pic.twitter.com/zlrZBmkLBI

Karen Pence praised the first lady for her caring nature.
‘Melania … has a natural gift of being kind and loving to others,’ Pence said.
‘I believe that today’s service project will mean more than we will ever know,’ Pence said, noting how she was a Blue Star Mother. Her son Michael Pence is in the Marines.
The first lady encouraged all Americans to join in volunteer activities.
‘These comfort kits are one small way that we can say thank you and honor the sacrifices that members of the military make year around, and I encourage people everywhere to consider participating in acts of service such as volunteering during this holiday season,’ she said.”
Melania is asking for us to help our service members by volunteering. There are several organizations to volunteer with like the USO.
Share this if you will help Melania help our troops!
